OUR STORY

Tending Paradise Gathering is the joint effort of several groups brought together by their collective vision to bring healing and restoration to the communities and ecologies effected by the 2018 Camp Fire and ultimately our planet.  The gathering will be held at a ranch owned by Sol Sanctuary, a 18 year old non-profit, run by Butte County locals, with a legacy of 7 generations of family living in the area, who have been helping individuals and families through traumatic events through coaching.  In the wake of the fire, Sol Sanctuary, purchased the ranch to regenerate it into a community healing, arts, and education center that will serve the community long term.  The workshop projects will support the development of the land and serve as a demonstration and gathering space for the community.

The Camp Fire Restoration Project (CFRP) was started post-fire as a first aid response to the scorched earth and destroyed communities. These ecosystem restoration efforts drew volunteers together from all over the world, to heal through healing the environment.  CFRP became the first Ecosystem Restoration Camp in the USA and the 3rd in the world and are leaders in the movement towards regenerative solutions to pressing ecological challenges.

Sol Sanctuary and CFRP hove joined to offer a meaningful and immersive opportunity to develop practical new skills, participate in community building among workshop participants, learn in a setting that supports a local organizations, and creates opportunities for people affected by the Camp Fire to learn ways to rebuild their communities.

Unfortunately, there will be other incidents like the Camp Fire in the future, and Paradise will not be the only community to suffer. We invite you join us as we rise from the ashes and learn together how to be more resilient, create positive change from the ground up, and regenerate and tend our earthly Paradise.
